20th Regiment, Ohio Infantry

The 20th Regiment, Ohio Infantry mustered in August 19 to September 21, 1861 at Columbus, Ohio. They were mustered out July 18, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. [1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

Company D - Many men from Delaware County[6]

Company F - Many men from Shelby County[8]

Company H - Many men from Trumbull and Mahoning Counties[10]
Company I - Many men from Noble County[11]
Company K - Many men from Shelby County[8]
