FamilySearch Library/2nd Floor
The 2nd Floor of the FamilySearch Library is known as the United States and Canada Research/Microfilm Floor.

Stop at the Reference Desk to get your research questions answered. The volunteers and missionaries here will get you started with your research and find someone to help you.
Microfilms[edit | edit source]
This floor contains microfilms found from the United States and Canada. Some of the languages that you can find among these films are: English, French, Spanish, and Latin. You may find more languages as you do research on your family.
2nd Floor Lab[edit | edit source]
This computer lab has 30 computers programmed as research computers. They have access to the subscription websites and everything else available on the research computers on the floor.
You can reserve this room for your own presentation or even for a group presentation from the FamilySearch Library. To learn more about reserving the computer lab go to this web page. All reservations are based upon availability.

ScanPro Readers[edit | edit source]
We have new work stations that are equipped with ScanPro microfilm readers. These workstations have some of the following features:
- 21 ScanPro microfilm Readers
- Extra large computer screens
- Larger work stations
- Adjustable desk stations
Research Computers[edit | edit source]
There are 146 research computers available on the 2nd Floor. When the computers shut down all memory is wiped. Please make sure to save your work often. These computers are programmed with access to many subscription websites as well as different genealogy programs. Here is a list of some of the more popular websites and programs:

- Findmypast
- Fold3.com
- JSTOR
- RootsMagic
- AncestralQuest
- Legacy (Family History Program)
- Personal Ancestral File (PAF)

These computers also connect to 3 printers available on the floor, so you can print what you find on the computer.
Special Collections[edit | edit source]
Some items in our collection are copyright restricted from the general public and are housed in the Special Collection room. No digital or photographic image coping is allowed. The following record sets are housed in Special Collections.
- Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Temple Records. Photo identification and a temple recommend are required. Verification through the LDS Tools app is not acceptable in place of recommend.
- Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Deceased Members File, 1941-1988. Photo identification and proof of direct line are required.
- Salt Lake City Birth Records, 1921-1950, 1953. Photo identification and proof of direct line are required. A photo or digital copy can be made under Library supervision.
- British Microfiche and Books.
- Various restricted films (as stated in the FamilySearch Catalog).
