Brief History

The 10th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it was mustered in October 14, 1861. It did guard duty near Kenesaw Mountain until October 16. It was mustered out October 25, 1864. Veterans and recruits were transferred to the  21st Wisconsin Infantry [1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
