Class Reminders for the week of September 19th through the 23rd at the Payson FamilySearch Center

With the weather becoming cooler, it's a good time to come inside and enjoy one of our free classes. Bring a friend and learn about the many resources available for doing your Family History. If you cannot attend, join us on zoom at https://zoom.us/j/95589561172?pwd=ZHVjdC9HZ1d2QUx1TDJtZnpaY0ZkQT09.

Tuesday, October 17th at 10:30 am Troy Mohrman will be teaching “Using the New Payson FamilySearch Wiki Website.” Did you know the Payson FamilySearch Center has a new Wiki Page which replaces our old FamilySearch page? Come and learn all the awesome resources available on this page from the one who created it.

Wednesday, October 18th at 1:00 pm Kris Bloomer and Janis Olsen will be teaching “Bring Your Quilt and Tell Your Story.” This is a fun class for those who love quilting and the stories they tell. We invite you to bring your quilt and tell its story. Quilts are often created to remember the past and/or honor a person or a memory. A picture of the quilt and its story can be posted in memories on FamilySearch. If you don’t have a quilt, bring an heirloom and tell its story. Don’t have anything, come and enjoy the stories.

Thursday, October 19th at 6 pm, Elder Van Celaya will be teaching “Stop Wasting Your Time with Searches.” Most people do not have hours to search for things on FamilySearch. Elder Celaya will show you fast and accurate ways to do research on FamilySearch. It will save you time and produce the results you need. Elder Celaya works for BYU as an instructor and teaches webinars to people all over the world.

Thursday, October 19th at 7:30 pm, Shaunese Luthy and Shelly Strand will be teaching “Researching Your Family.” This is a hands-on class. Shelly and Shaunese have degrees in Family History. They are extremely knowledgeable in various types of records to help you find your family records. The first part of the class you will learn about one type of record to use in your research. The second part of the class will be one on one help with what you need assistance with. This class is not zoomed.

Saturday, October 21st at 10:30 am Shaunese Luthy will be teaching “Collaborating Different Records Types to Build F.A.N.” F.A.N. means Friends, Associates and Neighbors. Using different records can create a F.A.N. to help break those brick walls when researching your family. It can help you find “lost” people. Shaunese has her degree in Family History and Genealogy from Brigham Young University. She runs her own Genealogy business.
