Add miscellaneous databases to Wiki pages

Video Instructions

Task List

Part A - Court Records Link to Hartford Connecticut Towns

Step One - Sign Up

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a town in Hartford County, Connecticut.



Step Two - Click the Link

  • Using the links on the task list, click the town you want to work on.



Step Three - Click Court Records in the Contents

  • In the contents, select Court Records. Or scroll down to the Court Records header.



Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Court Records

  • Click Edit Source next to Court Records.



Step Five - Copy and Paste the Database

  • Copy the following wikitext code and paste it under the Court Records header.

Remember:

  • Keep the links in chronological order.
  • If the link is already on the page, replace it with this link.
  • If other links are not formatted correct, just ignore them. We'll fix these links in another project.


Step Six - Check the Database and Save the Page

  • Click Show Preview to make sure you put the link in the correct spot in the table and the link works.



  • Enter in the Summary and click Save changes:

Part B - Add RecordaGrave to Florida and Indiana

Step One - Sign Up

This is a growing database but mostly covers Florida and Indiana. We will only put it on these counties for now.

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a county.



Step Two - Click the Link

  • Using the links on the task list, click the county to open the Wiki page.



Step Three - Click Cemeteries in the Contents

  • In the contents, select Cemeteries. Or scroll down to the Cemeteries header.



Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Cemeteries

  • Click Edit Source next to Cemeteries.



Step Five - Copy and Paste the Database into the Table

  • Copy the following code and paste it in the "Tombstone Transcription Online" section at the bottom of the list.

Step Six - Check the Database and Save the Page

  • Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good and the link works.



  • Enter in the Summary and click Save changes:

Part C - Add Two Births Links to Rhode Island Towns

Step One - Sign Up

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a town in Rhode Island.



Step Two - Click the Link

  • Using the links on the task list, click the town to open the Wiki page.



Step Three - Click Births in the Contents

  • In the contents, select Births under Vital Records. Or scroll down to the Births header under Vital Records.



Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Births

  • Click Edit Source next to Births.



Step Five - Copy and Paste the Two Databases

  • Copy the following code and paste it chronological order under the Births header.

Exceptions:

  • If the links are already on the page, replace it with the new links to make it match the new manual of style. Do not worry about other entries on the page that are not in accordance with the manual of style.
  • If there is nothing under the heading, add the links directly under the Births heading.

  • Two databases for Rhode Island in Part C and from Part E also needs to go under the Church Records header because they include church records.

Step Two - Click the Link

  • Using the links on the task list, click the town to open the Wiki page.



Step Three - Click Church Records in the Contents

  • In the contents, select Church Records. Or scroll down to the Church Records header.



Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Church Records

  • Click Edit Source next to Church Records.



Step Five - Copy and Paste the Database

  • Copy the following code and paste the two databases chronologically with the other databases on the page.

Exceptions:
