- On the Research Wiki, we try to simplify the experience for our users so they can easily find the countries they are searching for. We use the English version of Wikipedia to help us determine how we set up our classifications. In this case, we are using the broad version of Scandinavia to include Finland, Island, and the Faroes to assist our users.Batsondl (talk) 12:15, 15 March 2021 (MDT)
- I'm sorry, but I do not find this a valid argument at all. This isn't a "broad version of Scandinavia" since none of those countries have ever been in Scandinavia to begin with. Certain no more than either Scotland or Estonia, which have also come under heavy Scandinavian influence, but neither of which are in Scandinavia.
- Colloquial usage is not a guide. I live in one of the three other parts of the UK many foreigners wrongly refer to as "England", including Americans, but that is not accurate usage either.-Bellraymondmackean1 (talk) 03:45, 19 August 2023 (MDT)
