Video Instructions[edit | edit source]

Task List[edit | edit source]

Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a county or district in Ontario.

Step Two - Click the Link[edit | edit source]

  • Using the links on the task list, click the county or district you want to work on.

Step Three - Click on Edit Source at the Top of the County or District Page[edit | edit source]

  • Click on Edit Source at the top of the county page you are working on.

Step Four - Copy the Database[edit | edit source]

  • You will be pasting this database under several headings on the page because it covers both Civil Registration and Church Records.

Remember:

  • Keep the links in chronological order.
  • If the link is already on the page, replace it with this link.
  • If other links are not formatted correctly, just ignore them and put this link at the top of the list. We'll fix the other links in another project.

  • Copy the following code:

*'''1801-1948''' {{RecordSearch|2385200|Canada, Ontario Church and Civil Records, 1801-1948}} at FamilySearch - [[Canada, Ontario Church and Civil Records - FamilySearch Historical Records|How to Use this Collection]]; index & images; incomplete

Step Five - Add the Link to the Following Headings[edit | edit source]

Header: Civil Registration Under Birth[edit | edit source]

  • Use Ctrl + F to search for Birth on the page. Navigate to the Birth heading on the county page.
  • Paste the database.

Header: Civil Registration Under Marriage[edit | edit source]

  • Use Ctrl + F to search for Marriage on the page. Navigate to the Marriage heading on the county page.
  • Paste the database.

Header: Civil Registration Under Death[edit | edit source]

  • Use Ctrl + F to search for Death on the page. Navigate to the Death heading on the county page.
  • Paste the database.

Header: Online Church Records[edit | edit source]

  • Use Ctrl + F to search for Online Church Records on the page. Navigate to the Online Church Records heading on the county page.
  • Paste the database.

Step Six - Check the Database and Save the Page[edit | edit source]

  • Click Show Preview to make sure each link you've added to the Wiki page looks good and the link works.

  • Enter in the Summary and click Save changes:
