Task List[edit | edit source]

Instructions[edit | edit source]

1. Go to this sandbox where you will add a final list for each state's cemetery collections.

2. Go to the task list and click on the state you are working on. This link only goes to the state page. You must click on the blue button to get to the OGR page.

3. Once you are on the state OGR page you are working on, click on Edit Source at the top of the page.

4. Do a Ctrl + F and type in "cemetery" to find the cemetery section on the OGR page.

5. Copy the links under the cemetery header and paste it to the sandbox page under the correct state header.

6. Now copy the links listed below and paste them to the sandbox page directly under the links already there.

*''See [[STATE Cemeteries|STATE Cemeteries]] for a complete list of cemetery resources''
*[https://www.findagrave.com/memorial Headstone Search] at Findagrave.com
*[https://billiongraves.com/ Headstone Search] at Billiongraves.com
*[http://www.interment.net/us/al/index.htm Headstone Search] at Interment.net

Note: We will be only listing the direct links to the website on OGR pages. We will not list links that Ancestry, FamilySearch, and Findmypast have for Findagrave or Billiongraves. That will be on the state cemetery page instead.

7. Replace the STATE in the first bullet with the name of the state you are working on.

8. Take out the old findagrave, billiongraves, and interment links from the list you brought over from the OGR page and use the new ones you just put on the page.

9. Review the other databases. If they appear to cover all of state, leave the links in the list under these first 4 bullets. A good example of those kinds of databases are Utah Cemeteries and Burials and Nebraska Gravestones.

10. If the databases appear to only cover a portion of Alabama, cut the link from this sandbox page and paste it on to the state's cemetery page, if necessary. There really isn't a "correct spot" it goes, just put it near other links that are the same type.) Note: For the state cemetery page - if there is a range of years in the database link you are adding, take it off the front of the link and put it back with the title of the database so the links all match on the table.

11. If you aren't sure if the collection covers the whole state, put two <br> spaces between the new list and the questionable link. I'll review it later and make that decision.

12. Now save the sandbox page and go to the next state to repeat the process.

13. After you have completed all the states, I will double check the info. Then I'll have you add them to the respective OGR state pages.
