Adding the U.S. Social Security Numerical Identification Files(NUMIDENT) database to all U.S. county pages
Task List[edit | edit source]
Step One - Choose a State[edit | edit source]
- From the tabs on the spreadsheet, choose a state to work on: Task List.
- You can sign up for individual states by putting your name directly below "Name" above a list of counties for a state.
Note: there will be multiple states on one tab. Be sure to scroll right to see them all.
Step Two - Select a County[edit | edit source]
- On the task list, click on the name of the first county link for the state signed up for to open the Wiki page.
Step Three - Social Security Records in the Contents[edit | edit source]
- In the contents, select Social Security Records. Or, scroll down to the Social Security Records header.
Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Social Security Records[edit | edit source]
- Click Edit Source next to Social Security Records header.
Step Five - Copy and Paste Database[edit | edit source]
- Copy the following database code and paste it at the bottom of the list of collections already under the Social Security Records header:

Exceptions
- If the link is already on the page, replace it with this new link to make it match the new manual of style. Do not worry about other entries on the page that are not in accordance with the manual of style.
Step Six - Check the Database and Save the Page[edit | edit source]
- Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good and the link works.
- Enter in the Summary and click Save changes:

Step Eight - Sign off on the Task List[edit | edit source]
- Once you have saved the page, you are completed with the task. Go back to the Task List and type the date in the column labeled Date Completed beside the county you completed. Then, go to the next county on the task list until you complete all the counties.
Step Nine - Go to the next State[edit | edit source]
- Go to the Task List to locate another state to work on and continue to use the instructions above.
