- The Cork City and County Archives (CCCA) was the first local government archives service established in Ireland and it remains one of the largest such services in Ireland. - This simple, rather endearing civic museum is a good place to get an overview of the city’s history. Displays include a few objects from Cork’s ancient past—including an Iron Age helmet and some of the oldest tools ever discovered in Ireland—but it’s strongest when it comes to the traditional crafts made in the city during the 19th and 20th centuries, including silverware and intricate lace from the Victorian period.
