Probate Records for Massachusetts
- NOTE: You can scroll through tabs on Google Sheets. Next to the first tab, there are four lines stacked vertically. If you click that, you can see a complete list of all tabs on the Google Sheet. Additionally, next to the last tab, there are right and left arrows that you can click to scroll through.

Instructions[edit | edit source]
There are new collections that need to be added separately to locality pages in Norfolk County.
1. You will need to sign up for a locality under a collection title tab on the Norfolk County .
Project Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Choose a Town from the Massachusetts County Task List
- Put your name by The Town in the Massachusetts County Task List
- Click the Town link to open up the new Town page
- In the Table of Contents on the top left of the Town page scroll down and click on the Probate Records link
- Next by the Probate Records click on the Edit source link and open the Editing (section)
- Copy & Paste the Wiki Text on this Wiki Project instruction page in the sections below to the Probate Records Editing (section) on the Town page
- Make sure to Copy & Paste underneath the sentence or paragraph introduction if there is one
- Do not remove other links or information except for duplicates...replace old links with new links
- Put all old and new Probate Records links together into a chronological order list, if there are no dates then put those Probate Record links below the date list and arrange them in alphabetical order
- Click on Show Preview
- Copy & Paste the Summary WikiText in the sections below into the Summary box on the Town page:

- Click on Save changes
- Make sure all of the Town Probate Record links work by clicking on them and opening them up to the right Records page, then in the....
- Put the date you finished by your name
- Start the instructions over again by clicking open a new Town to work in, in the
Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]
Sign your name next to a county on the [--] tab of the task list.

Step Two - Click the Link[edit | edit source]
Using the links on the task list, click the locality you want to work on.
Step Three - Click Probate Records in the Contents[edit | edit source]
In the contents, select Probate Records. This should jump you down to the Subheading Probate Records. You can also just scroll down to this subheading.
Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Probate Records[edit | edit source]
- Click Edit Source next to Probate Records.
- Copy the following code and paste it in chronological order by date under the small paragraph about probate records.
Exceptions:
- If the link is already on the page, replace it with this new link to make it match the new manual of style. Do not worry about other entries on the page that are not in accordance with the manual of style.
- If there are no other entries with dates, put this as the first bullet.
- If there is a note about there being no online records available, please replace that note with this link.
