It is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that seeks to

  • Promote interest in family history through education and sound research methods.
  • Encourage stewardship of genealogical holdings.
  • Provide a forum to share genealogical information.

The Society offers research services, and a research library, housing reference materials from California, the United States, and around the world.

It offers monthly General meetings, which feature a wide range of genealogical topics, and several Interest Group meetings, all of which are open to the general public.

The library resides in the San Rafael (Marin) FamilySearch Center (FSC).
