General Information

Please select your class of interest by clicking on the following registration link for that class. You can also search for classes by selecting Classes by Topic or reviewing the Calendar of future classes.

Unless otherwise noted, the same training class will be offered in the morning at 11:00am and again at 6:30pm. On a rare occasion, our class times and dates may change. You need to register for any session that you want attend.

We will continue to offer classes online using Zoom technology. Zoom is an online communication tool that allows us to provide classes for you wherever you are in the world. An account is not required to use this service. For help with Zoom, select one of the following links:

After registering for the class, you will receive a zoom confirmation email with a link to join the class. On the day of the registered class, please click on the zoom link and be ready 5 minutes before your scheduled class. Also, please meet any requested prerequisites.

Monthly Consultant Connect Series

Each month, we will provide consulting classes to help you create learning experiences for other individuals who are interested in their family story. We encourage you to participate in our Consultant Connect Series to deepen your skills.

Connect - FamilySearch.org Research Strategies

Instructor: George Myers

Family history research is the process of searching records to find information about your relatives and using those records to link individuals to earlier and later generations. This class describes approaches for conducting family history research to help strengthen or extend your family history.

Overcoming the Most Common DNA Problems

Instructor: Jim Baker

This class deals with the most common DNA analysis problems: not finding any matches for certain family branches; not getting much help from Ancestry; having many matches with only partial tree postings or no posted data; or being adopted. Case studies will suggest effective workarounds.

Learn how to make the most of all the resources FamilySearch has created for Temple and Family History Consultants. We will show you how to use the Helper Button to view a patrons family tree.
