Question 1
Question 1: When searching through the images for Western > Colombo > Marriage Index 1893-1987, Vol. 2, I see images with other years. What is the correct year span?
Answer 1: Both final waypoints for marriage indexes should be corrected as follows:
• Marriage Index 1709-1892, Vol. 1 (excluding the years 1743-1810)
• Marriage Index 1893-1987, Vol. 2 year span should read as Marriage Index 1743-1810, Vol. 2.
In Western > Colombo > Marriage Index 1709-1892, Vol. 1 > Image 2 of 145 has an annotation that explains this breakdown in images. For more information about what records are available, see the Catalog Film Notes for Film Number 1496387 Item 6-7: Index to the registers of marriages at the Dutch Reformed Church at Wolvendaal, 1709-1987. The Catalog year span should read as 1709-1892.
Question 2
Question 2: When searching through the images for Western > Colombo > Deaths 1927 – 1978, I see records for Admissions to Membership, where are the death records for those years?
Answer 2: Death records can be found in the following waypoints:
• Western > Colombo > Deaths 1927 - 1938
• Western > Colombo > Deaths 1938 - 1966
This collection does not contain deaths beyond 1966. The FamilySearch Catalog for film 1610373 items 10-13 should read: "Admissions to Membership 1927-1978, Deaths 1927-1938. Marriages 1902-1916, 1947-1974”.
