• Dorset History Forum - created in 2007 following an initiative by Dorset County Council's Dorset History Centre (former Records Office). The Forum is independent of the County Council and the Library Service. It is managed by a Committee of volunteers appointed by members. The Forum seeks to provide a link between local history organisations in Dorset, including: societies, individuals, museums, writers and researchers; in order to enable the sharing of interests and information, so to promote research, publication and the development and sharing of knowledge.
• Dorset History Network - network formed "to build a history community in Dorset by sharing knowledge, promoting research and improving communication between members".
• Dorset History Centre
• Avon Local History and Archaeology is the umbrella group for local history and archaeology societies in Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. They organise a local history study day each year, and our AGM is accompanied by a lecture with a distinguished speaker. Each year they publish 3-4 compact but authoritative books on aspects of Avon local history.
