Template:FHL/doc
![]() |
This is a documentation subpage for Template:FHL (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
At this time, this only works based upon film, fiche, or book number. Other IDs or other cases are not set up to work as examples may be needed or other answers. Are there other cases needed to link to the Family History Library Catalog? If so, please discuss them in the right section on the Discussion page.
This is the {{FHL}} template. This template is used for formatting the text and links for FHL items generally used in source citations. Only one parameter is used and required, the FHL item number. When you search the Family History Library Catalog at http://www.FamilySearch.org/, you will find the call number which should be entered in the template as the first parameter.
Examples
All film or fiche require a "Film Number Search" (using only numbers, no letters, spaces, commas, or periods (none of these should be included)). Books, pamphlets, CDs, pedigrees, and maps require a "Call Number Search" (contains a combination of numbers and letters and always a space).
