Kentucky Road Map.png|thumb|640px|The Kentucky Road (in red) was a southern spur of the Wilderness Road. The first Americans to settle near Nashville were from eastern Tennessee. They got there using the Kentucky Road in 1779. Other trails to Nashville were used later.
