History
- After the independence of Central America in 1821, Sanaria -as it was called then- became part of the Acasaguastlán circuit.
- Then, in 1871 he was assigned to the department of Guatemala, and then he was assigned to the department of Jalapa, which was created on November 24, 1873.
- Finally passed to the department of El Progreso when it was created on April 13, 1908.
- Although the department was dismantled in 1920, Sansare was reassigned to it when it was created again in 1934.
- The municipality of Sansare has a population of approximately 12,000 people[1]
