- As we move forward with the integration of the wiki into beta FamilySearch, we wanted to express our thanks for all the feedback received regarding the new page designs for wiki content. In addition, we wanted to let you know that when the integration is finalized there will be two options to choose from in the preferences for the default skin of the wiki pages. This preference choice will be available for a period of time to help all community members transition to the new look of our wiki content. Currently that "period of time" is undetermined, but we will let you know. If you have any questions or comments, please add them to the discussion page. Thanks! --Fran 18:46, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

From the Community
- Map and Info box options for US County pages. See discussion threads Links to Maps and Content on County and City Pages. Lise 14:00, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Infobox Discussion:
- With regard to infoboxes, last August (2009) I worked with Dsammy to put together {{Infobox U.S. County}}. Does this meet your needs? If not feel free talk about changes/improvements. It's already being used on some County pages --Steve 17:05, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- There are even city infoboxes, too where information is possible. dsammy 20:04, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- See {{Infobox U.S. Town}} and {{Infobox U.S. City}} --Steve 21:12, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- See Albany, New York for an example of the city infobox -Fran
Map Links Discussion:
- Thomas is almost finished with the template that can be used for creating map links.
- An example of what we are trying to accomplish with the map links template is the Wiltshire, England GeoHack page
- Please add other comments regarding this discussion! Thanks, Fran
- See the thread that Lise referred to concerning links to maps. This really has almost no relation to the infobox except that the infobox may display things concerning links to maps. Thomas_Lerman 00:52, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Quality Assurance forum post: One of the problems in the post itself is the terminology. It's headquarters terminology, and a foreign concept to community organizations. A rating system is favored instead. Comments about quality assurance terminology and also the thermometer concept shared in previous meetings should also be shared on the forum post. Everyone was encouraged to sign-in before posting comments to forum threads.
- Beta FamilySearch: What is the timeline for beta? I don't know the answer to that, but will check and let you know. -Fran (I asked David C. right after the meeting and he didn't know the answer as well. He will check and let me know. -Fran)
- Forums on Beta? What is the status of the Forums on beta. Will the forum threads eventually be blown away? I don't know the status of that. Will check and let you know. -Fran
- If I missed anything from our discussion today, please add your notes here. Thanks!
From FamilySearch Staff
- I am working on a project to gather all enhancement requests that were requested over the past three years. In the process I am reviewing all meeting agenda notes, old backlog lists, e-mail or other conversations. The result will be a list of enhancements that are needed for the wiki. This would include templates, bots, lists, etc., etc., etc. Please add your ideas for improvements to the wiki either on the Forum, this discussion page, or send an e-mail to me by viewing my user page. -Fran (click on my name to go to my user page. You'll see the link there to send me an e-mail)
