Purpose[edit | edit source]

Task List[edit | edit source]

Part 1: Add Sentence Above Map[edit | edit source]

1. On the Department page, Copy and paste the sentence below right above the map - but still under the "Municipalities" heading.

The map below is of municipality boundaries as of 2009. (As of a law in 2009, the Uruguayan departments have been subdivided into municipalities.) Researching at municipal level before that time may not be relevant to your research.

Part 2: Church Records Collection[edit | edit source]

Add Department Collections to Municipalities[edit | edit source]

2. Collections for Parish Records, Civil Registration, etc. on the Department level are often not included on the Municipality pages, even though they cover the municipalities. We need to add those collections to the Municipality pages as well.

3. Copy all the content under the "Civil Registration", "Parish Records", and "Census" headings on the Department pages, and paste any content into the respective headings onto the Municipality pages for that Department.

Part 3: Add Parish Records Collection[edit | edit source]

4. Copy and paste the following code under the "Parish Records" heading for all of the Department pages as well as the Municipality pages.

*[https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1062787?availability=Family%20History%20Library Transcripción de registros parroquiales, ca. 1791-1880] - browse images, partial coverage; use the image indexes (''indices'') to see the volume number (''tomo''), page number (''foja''), and act (''acta'') that will be needed to navigate the rest of the digitized microfilm.

Part 4: Add Civil Registration Collection[edit | edit source]

5. Copy and paste the following code under the "Civil Registration" heading for all of the Department pages as well as the Municipality pages.
