Instructions for Completing an Online Church Service Missionary Application to serve at the Ogden FamilySearch Center[edit | edit source]

Step 1 – Make your Bishop and Stake President Aware[edit | edit source]

  • Call your Bishop and Stake President and inform them of your desire to submit your application to become a Church Service Missionary to serve at the Ogden FamilySearch Center.
  • Ask them to watch for your application and to process it as quickly as they are able. It will be sent to them electronically by the Church.
  • Step 2 – Locate Your Service Opportunity

  • Go to seniormissionary.lds.org on the internet.
  • • Click on Search Opportunities then click on Church-Service Mission. • Sign in with your LDS Account (user name and password). Step 3 – Find a Position • Enter Ogden FamilySearch in the long search bar at the top of the page and then clicking on Search. • A page showing Family History opportunities in Ogden will appear. Click Submit on the option Ogden FamilySearch Center Miss 16 hours/week. The online application will appear. Step 4 – Apply for a position • Complete the online application. Each applicant must submit his/her own application. Note that the application has multiple tabs. Complete all required information. • When finished, click Submit. After you have completed Step 4, the following will occur: • Your Bishop electronically approves the application. This may include an interview with you. • Your Stake President electronically approves the application. This may include an interview with you as well. • Church headquarters electronically sends the call letter to your Stake President. • Your Stake President prints and signs the call letter, extends the call to you, gives you a copy of the call letter, and arranges for you to be set apart. • You will then notify Elder and Sister Johnson at the Ogden FamilySearch Center that you have received your call. • Elder and Sister Johnson will then arrange for your welcome and orientation on the first shift you serve at the center.
