Marin County Genealogical Society and Library
The Marin County Genealogical Society[1] (MCGS), was formed in May 1977, and serves the residents of Marin County, California.[2]
It is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that seeks to
- Promote interest in family history through education and sound research methods.
- Encourage stewardship of genealogical holdings.
- Provide a forum to share genealogical information.
The Society offers research services, and a research library, housing reference materials from California, the United States, and around the world.
The library resides in the San Rafael (Marin) Family History Center[3] (FHC) and is operated in a joint venture with this center.
