Open Hours:

  • Tuesday: 1:30pm-8:30pm
  • Wednesday: 6:00pm-8:00pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am-12:00pm

Note: The FHC is run entirely by volunteers, so please call before coming down during scheduled times to confirm the presence of a volunteer. Generally, the phone is not answered outside of official hours.

Please use the northern entrance.

Holiday Schedule:

No hours on Thanksgiving: Christmas: New Years Day, Labor Day weekend, Memorial Day Weekend.

Also, we're closed the first Saturday of April and October

Sunday, October 2, 2016: Genealogical Society of Broward County will present "Immigration". Mark Fearer will talk about the myths, history, resources and websites to help find your immigrant ancestors. The focus will be on peak immigration to the U.S. from the late 1800s to early 1900s.. It will be held at the Alvin Sherman Library, 2nd Floor, Nova Southeastern University. For times, directions and other details, go to the GSBC website.

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Hundreds of microfilms on a wide variety of locations, subjects and resources.
  • Several dozen books on a variety of genealogical topics.
  • Dozens of genealogical magazines, including the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, the NGS Magazine, American Ancestors and NEHGS Register (both from the New England Historical and Genealogical Society) and the Official Journal of the Northern New York American-Canadian Genealogical Society.
  • Handouts to help beginners.
