What is the Family History Library Block Party?
The Family History Library Block Party is sponsored by the Family History Department with assistance from the Church History Museum. It is a great event for family friendly fun, entertainment, and learning about your ancestors.
When is the Family History Block Party?
The Family History Library Block Party will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016. The event in Salt Lake City will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. It will be held on West Temple Street from North Temple to South Temple.
There is no charge to attend the Family HIstory Library event. All activities are family-friendly and will include the following:
- Live entertainment
- Food vendors (will charge)
- A rock wall
- Bounce houses
- Face painting
- Pioneer games
- Meet people dressed in pioneer-era costumes
- Short classes
- Interactive family discovery experiences using technology.
- Much more!
Live Entertainment Schedule
The following live entertainment will take place outside the Family History Library on the plaza between the library and the Church History Museum.

- Photo scanning- Bring in your old photo albums and digitize your photos for free using the Library's fast, high-tech scanners that can scan 85 pictures per minute
- 3-in-1 computers which include the following experiences: See where your ancestors came from and the percentage of your heritage. View your ancestors on a world map to see where they lived and explore their photos and stories. Discover the meaning of your name and the names of your family members. Discover the events that took place the year you and other family members were born. Relative Finder- See what famous people you may be related too!

Parking
There are several places to park around the Family History Library and Temple Square.
- Free parking. Behind the LDS Church History Museum the day of the event there will be limited free parking. Enter the lot from North Temple.
- Pay parking. City Creek Center enter from South Temple.
- Pay parking. Lot on the northwest corner of North Temple and West Temple.
- Pay parking. Under the LDS Conference Center. Enter on West Temple just north of North Temple.
