The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Department of Justice) has a website where the indexes can be searched at no cost.

1. Go to the website: State of Victoria Registry of Vital Records

2. Then select Family History.

3. Click the "Start Search" button.

4. Search the index for an ancestor

If you wish to purchase a certificate you can do that online and print it in your home or office. They cost about $20 dollars and usually contain a lot of information after 1855.
