Monthly Class Schedule

All classes are held in the Training Room of the Family History Center. Please register in advance by calling the Brigham City Family History Center at 723-5995.

Thursday Jan 7- 2:00 PM - Beginning Research, taught by Linda Peterson
Learn the basics of getting started using FamilySearch and other online programs that contain information about your ancestors to verify your tree or extend your family lines. This is a basic class for anyone just beginning or wanting a refresher course.

Saturday Jan 9 - 10:00 AM - RootsMagic Users Group, taught by Michael and Joyce Palmer
Come and join the discussion with other RootsMagic users and learn more about the RootsMagic program and how to use it more effectively. All experience levels are welcome."

Monday Jan 11 - 10:00 AM - Beginning Family Tree, Part 1, taught by Annette Shepherd
Come and learn the fundamentals of using FamilySearch. Great class for beginners or those wanting to brush up their skills.

Tuesday Jan 12 - 2:00 PM - Beginning Swedish Research, taught by Anita Olson, AG
This class teaches the types of records used in Danish research and where to find these records online. Instructions on how to extract and use the information found in these various records will also be given.

Tuesday Jan 12 - 6:00 PM - Kinpoint and Your Family Tree, taught by Susan LaVelle
Kinpoint is a FamlySearch app that displays your Family Tree in different ways. Learn how it can help you identify missing data as well as other interesting facts.

Wednesday Jan 13 - 2:00 PM - Basic Family Tree, Part 1, taught by Mikhael Trimnal
This two-week class teaches the basic fundamentals of using FamilySearch Family Tree.

Saturday Jan 16 - 10:00 AM - Ancestry.com, taught by Susan LaVelle
Learn the best methods for using the Ancestry.com website. Learn how to navigate the site, build a tree, and exchange data between Ancestry and FamilySearch.

Monday, Jan 18 - 10:00 AM - Beginning Family Tree, Part 2, taught by Annette Shepherd
This is the second week of a two-week class teaching the fundamentals of using FamilySearch Family Tree.

Tuesday, Jan 19 - 6:00 PM - US Research Using American Ancestors and Other Online Sources, taught by Linda Peterson
Learn where to find US records with information about your ancestors by using the American Ancestors website and other online sources.

Wednesday Jan 20 - 2:00 PM - Basic Family Tree, Part 2, taught by Mikhael Trimnal
The second week of a two-week class teaching the basic fundamentals of using FamilySearch Family Tree.

Thursday Jan 21 - 2:00 PM - Basic Indexing, taught by Roger Hendrickson
Indexing makes it possible for people around the world to find their ancestors. This class teaches basic indexing skills and the resources and helps that are available. This class is for all levels of indexers.

Saturday Jan 23 - 10:00 AM - Ancestry.com Follow Up, taught by Susan LaVelle
This is a follow-up class from the January 16th class. This will be hands-on practical use of Ancestry.com.

Tuesday Jan 26 - 2:00 PM - Beginning Danish Research, taught by Anita Olson, AG
This class teaches the types of records available to research your Danish ancestors, where to find the records, and how to read them to extract information to verify your tree or extend family lines.

Wednesday Jan 27 - 10:00 AM - RootsMagic Software Beginning, taught by Vicki Rasmussen
This class teaches the basic features and capabilities of the genealogy data management program RootsMagic. Learn how to get started using the program and how to exchange data with FamilySearch.
