Research use: Very useful supplement to civil and church records. Marriage contracts and wills usually link several generations.

Record type: Marriages, deaths (legacies), property sales and transfer, inventories, etc.

Time period: 1884-present.

Contents: Wills, marriage contracts, leases, sales, inventories etc., containing names, dates, relationships and other vital information.

Location: National, provincial, and department archives.

Population coverage: Estimated to be from 60 to 70% of French colonials; approximately 30% of native Cameroonians.[1]
