Record Description

This collection includes records from the years 1960-2011. The records are in Indonesian.

The records will include naturalization and citizenship-related records from the District Court in Boyolali, Central Java, Indonesia. These include:

Permohonan Ahli Waris (Court decrees of inheritance)
Permohonan Akte Kelahiran (Applications for birth certificate)
Permohonan Akte Perkawinan (Applications for marriage certificate)
Permohonan Anak Angkat (Applications for adoption of a child)
Permohonan Ganti Nama (Applications for name changes)
Permohonan Pewarganegaraan (Applications for naturalization)
Permohonan Surat Bukti Kewarganegaraan Indonesia (SBKRI) (Applications for Indonesian Citizenship)

The Surat Bukti Kewarganegaraan Republik Indonesia, or applications for citizenship were primarily filled out by Chinese Immigrants to Indonesia.

People settled in Victoria, and those who did were probably Dutch Indonesians. The Dutch rule over Indonesia, ended when the Japanese took over the country during World War II. The Netherlands controlled the Indonesian archipelago since the 19th century.

In order for a foreigner to work in Indonesia, they have to send their application to the immigration office.

Applications for birth certificates (Permohonan Akte Kelahiran) generally contain the following information:

Name of child
Date and place of birth

Applications for marriage certificates (Permohonan akte Perkawinan) generally contain the following information:

Name of bride and groom
Date and place of marriage
Names of witnesses

Applications for adoption of a child (Permohonan Anak Angkat) records generally contain the following information:

Name of child
Names of parents
Date and place of birth for the child and parents
Place of residence

Court decrees of inheritance (Permohonan Ahli Waris) records generally contain the following information:

Name of deceased
Names of heirs and family members
Date and place of death

Applications for name changes (Permohonan Ganti Nama) generally contain the following information

Name before change
Name after change
Date and place of birth

Applications for naturalizations (Permohonan Pewarganegaraan) generally contain the following information:

Date of naturalization
Name of immigrant
Date and place of birth
Immigrant's religion
Immigrant's occupation

Applications for Indonesian citizenship (Permohonan SBKRI) generally contain the following information:

Name of immigrant
Name of spouse
Age of immigrant
Place of residence

How to Use the Record

To begin your search for birth certificates, it would be helpful if you knew the following information:

Name
Approximate residence or place of birth
Date of event (such as birth, marriage, immigration)

Search the Collection

To search the collection images, select "Browse through images" on the initial collection page. Then:
⇒Select the appropriate "Record type"
⇒Select the appropriate "Year(s), Volume, Certificate number" which will take you to the images

Search the collection by image, comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine if the image relates to them. You may need to look at several images and compare the information about the individuals listed in those images to your ancestors to make this determination.

Using the Information

When you have found the record that you are looking for, the following will help you in your search:

Use the age on the record to calculate a birth year
Use the names of the parents on birth records to search for a marriage record
