Births before 1885[edit | edit source]
The State of Kansas was not organized at this time and was known as the Territory of Kansas. Before 1861 few births were recorded by the counties or city clerks. You must search substitute records to locate your ancestor’s birth date and place.
Territorial Records 1854-1861 may be searched online at the Kansas Historical Society.
