Monthly Class Schedule

All classes are held in the Training Room of the Family History Center. Please register in advance by calling the Brigham City Family History Center at 723-5995.


Thursday Sep 4 - 2:00 p.m. - Family Tree and Beginning Your Family History, taught by Linda Peterson
Learn how to use Family Tree as you begin your own family history. This class is designed for beginners.

Thursday Sep 11 - 10:00 a.m. - Legacy 8 Users Group—Beginning, taught by Anita Olsen AG
Thursday Sep 11 - 11:00 a.m. - Legacy 8 Users Group—Intermediate, taught by Anita Olsen AG
This class teaches how to use the software program, "Legacy 8". This users group will answer questions and give time to practice the use of this program.

Thursday Sep 11 - 2:00 p.m. - Finding Names for the Temple, taught by Linda Peterson
This class teaches the basics of using Family Tree and internet sources to find names for the temple.

Friday Sep 12 - 10:00 a.m. - Ancestry.com and Family Tree Links, taught by Susan LaVelle
This class teaches how to use the website "Ancestry.com" for both researching and recording personal family trees. Also, learn how to correlate your ancestry LDS subscription with familysearch.org.

Saturday Sep 13 - 10:00 a.m. - Ancestry.com Workshop, taught by Susan LaVelle
Hands-on workshop using Ancestry.com. Come prepared to work on your own family history and using Ancestry.com to help find your family.

Tuesday Sep 16 - 10:00 a.m. - The Best of Scandinavian Websites, taught by Anita Olsen, AG
Learn how to use the best websites for research in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. These vital websites include parish records and will be valuable tools in your research.

Saturday Sep 20 - 10:00 a.m. - Family Tree Beginning, taught by Barry Evans
Learn the basics to Family Tree. This class is designed for beginners or those who want to review the different functions of Family Tree.

Monday Sep 22 - 10:00 a.m. - My Heritage.com, taught by Annette Shepherd
This class teaches how to use the website "My Heritage.com" for both researching and recording personal family trees.

Wednesday Sep 24 - 10:00 a.m. - RootsMagic Users Group, taught by Vicki Rasmussen
This group meets the 4th Wednesday of every month. Learn more details about the Roots Magic software program and get answers to questions about this program. Beginners are welcome.

Thursday Sep 25 - 10:00 a.m. - Findmypast.com, taught by Joyce Palmer
Learn the basics to using the website "Findmypast.com" in researching your family. This site is now available to members of the LDS Church for free access.

Thursday Sep 25 - 6:00 p.m. - Finding Names for the Temple, taught by Linda Peterson
This class teaches the basics of using Family Tree and internet sources to find names for the temple.

Saturday Sep 27 - 10:00 a.m. - Scanning Workshop, taught by Michael Palmer
This workshop offers hands-on help with scanning photos and documents and uploading them to Family Tree. Bring several photos or documents and your FamilySearch log-in information.
