Germanna Foundation Library

United States Gotoarrow.png Virginia Gotoarrow.png Germanna Foundation German colonists came to the Virginia wilderness in 1714, sponsored by Governor Spotswood. Those 42 pioneers were followed by a second colony in 1717.

Today the Germanna Foundation owns the land in the original area, complete with a visitor's center and a historic mansion.
