The Cornish Studies Library at the Cornwall Centre in Redruth is a vital repository of information with many collections, including microfilms of all the main Cornish newspapers up to the present day, many dating back to the mid 18th century.

Transcriptions of the West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser are available online.  These contain news articles, court reports, and reports of births, marriages, and deaths.  This is an ongoing project with new additions nearly daily.  Many years are covered between 1836-1887 and are found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wbritonad/   This is searchable online by keyword or name.
