SwedGen Tour 2013/Swedish Genealogy Day in the FamilySearch Library Saturday, October 12 -The Oakland FamilySearch Library will be hosting the SwedGen genealogists and Kathy Meade, North American representative for ArkivDigital for an amazing day of Swedish research classes and individual 30 minute consultations. Topics include: ArkivDigital (Using Swedish church records online); DISBYT,DIS family tree database (The Computer Genealogy Society of Sweden); EmiWeb (covering immigration & emigration); Lantmäteriet (Swedish mapping, cadastral & land registration authority); Swedish online and CD resources and Swedish culture. Instructors: Anna-Lena Hultman, Västergötland, Sweden; Anneli Andersson, Dalsland, Sweden; Charlotte Börjesson, Stockholm, Göteborg, Södermanland, Sweden; and Kathy Meade, Chicago, Illinois. Oakland California Family History Center

The Oakland (California) Regional Family History Center is one of the largest and most accessible centers for genealogical research in California, with over 9,000 volumes of books, periodicals, family histories, city and county histories, city directories, plus over 37,000 reels of microfilm and 9,000 microfiche containing millions of local vital records and historical census data from all over the world.
