2013 CONFERENCE INTRODUCTON
Our presenters include generous professionals, teachers from the Salt Lake Family History Library and our own Ogden FamilySearch Library, and those knowledgeable sellers of family history books and software.
Over thirty presenters including Ron Tanner, Janet Hovorka, Arlene Eakle, Gene Sessions, Bradley Marchant, Marlo Schuldt, Carlos Camacho, Mike Booth, and Emil and Joanne Hanson will be instructing us in over 60 classes with topics that range from “The Mormon Reformation” to “Smart Phone Family History” to “Writing your Personal History” to “How do I start my Family History?”
During each of our five periods, we will have classes for beginners and Spanish speakers with more challenging research based classes for others who are interested in Dutch, Irish, Swedish, United States, Spanish, or Finnish research. Presenters from software companies will teach you how to use the products that will be for sale, including the popular “Flip-Pal Mobile Scanner.” Debbie Burnett will teach a class about photos and stories in FamilySearch Family Tree and Nicole Hepler will teach Consultant Training for LDS Family History Consultants.
Change seems to be the name of the family history game, so join us to stay up to date on all the latest and greatest programs and search strategies. Learn to Find, Organize, Preserve, and Share your Family History (Hooray for FOPS!)
Come prepared to share a research problem, and you can sign up for one-on-one time with a specialist in the areas of Danish, Swedish, English, Irish, Scottish, Spanish or United States research.
We are excited to welcome young and old, English and Spanish speakers, all religions and everyone who loves (or is learning to love) family history.
This Annual Conference is made possible by WSU History Department, the volunteers from the community and the Ogden FamilySearch Library: ogdenfsl.org
