:MAPUKA is the Karib Peoples Archaeological Museum of the Universidad del Norte. Its purpose is to contribute to the recognition of the identities of the Colombian Caribbean, from the appreciation and activation of the memory of the cultural processes that took place in this territory during the pre-Hispanic and colonial periods, until the first half of the 20th century, through the archaeological collection that includes ceramic, lithic, metallurgical, archeofauna, and bio-anthropological materials.  The museum is the result of the commitment acquired by the Universidad del Norte for four decades, with the research, conservation and dissemination of the archaeological heritage of the Caribbean region, where the museum, archeology, history, the university, the region and non-formal education.
