I like the wording change to be more of a proposal. The person who adds the template to the page should also explain why they are proposing the deletion. The wording change only included the request for the whole page. Is there a need to have another template for proposing the deletion of a section of a page? -Fran 17:00, 10 September 2010 (UTC) | I like the wording change to be more of a proposal. :I don't think an additional template for deleting a section is needed. I've never seen the template used other than to mark a whole page for deletion. Most deletion proposals are to delete pages with incorrect titles or duplicate pages where the content has been merged into another article. If these cases only applied to a section (wrong title/duplicate information) then users can edit the section in question or leave a ToDo note if they don't have time. Maybe a specific template to mark a section that requires editing with the ability to leave a specific reason, but I think the range of other Maintenance Templates particularly the general all-purpose ToDo template covers this need already. Do you think changing this template to only cover whole pages is leaving a gap in the maintenance tools? --Steve 07:25, 13 September 2010 (UTC) |
