[[Image:Ancestry persi search screen.png|thumb|right|Ancestry persi search screen.png]]Ancestry is available at many libraries, including the Genealogy Center, and also through personal subscription. From the Ancestry.com main page, click the “Search” tab, then under “Dictionaries, Encyclopedias &amp; Reference” select “[http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=3165 Periodical Source Index].”&nbsp; Ancestry provides search fields Keyword, Year, and Location.&nbsp; Entering critertia into more than one field implies "OR" so that the search results will locate any record with a match in ''either ''field. Rather than narrowing the focus, providing additional details actually broadens the search results.<br>
Findmypast is a pay site after a 14 day free trial period. They have entered into a partnership with the Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center to improve PERSI, by linking thousands of individual genealogical periodicals and resources to the index and allowing the original content to be accessed and connected digitally for the first time in the history of PERSI. Findmypast will be launching the PERSI data base in the future. In the meantime, Heritage Quest is the best place to search the PERSI. (Date of this entry: 22 November 2013.)

Results provide article title, surname, volume, number, and periodical title. The bibliographic record for the periodical is similar to that in the Heritage Quest version of PERSI, but browsing by issue is not possible. Updates to PERSI at Ancestry sometimes lag, while the database available at HeritageQuestOnline.com is the most current version available.&nbsp; Articles may not be indexed until 12-18 months after publication.
