Task List

Instructions

1. Go to the Task List and sign up for a country or state sidebar to review THAT IS IN YELLOW. Yellow indicates the sidebar has been fixed and is ready to be reviewed.
2. Once you have a country or state, click on the link to open the country/state wiki page.
3. Click on the Edit Source tab on the country/state page and go to the bottom of the page that lists the templates.
4. Click on the down arrow if needed to open the list. (If it does not open, refresh the page by clicking on the curved arrow near the URL.
5. You will see a list of templates on that page. Locate the correct template that says the country/state name and "sidebar". Click on the sidebar template page to review it.

Step 1 - Wiki Topics title

1. This title should be made a link going back the country or state page. If it is not a link, go to wikitext.
2. Make the whole heading a link by using wikitext. If you were adding a link to the Colombia sidebar template, your wikitext would look like the following:

EXAMPLE:

Colombia Wiki Topics
Finished example:
Wiki topic title.jpg

3. If the wiki topic title is already a clickable link, check to make sure it goes to the correct page. Then skip to Step 2.

Step 2 - categories

1. Each sidebar template should have at least two categories: 1) the country/state category 2) Sidebar templates category.
2. Make sure the appropriate categories are on the sidebar page. For Colombia, the categories would be:

EXAMPLE:

NOTE: ALL STATE CATEGORIES NEED "UNITED STATES" AT THE END. For example, the Alabama category is: Category:Alabama, United States.
4. If these two categories are on the sidebar, go to Step 3.

Step 3 - remove upgrade or Move Content categories

1. If the categories, Category:Upgrade or Category:Move Content are on the sidebar template, delete them from the page as they are no longer needed.
2. If they are not on the sidebar template, skip to Step 4.
3. If you find any other category on the sidebar, leave it on the page and make a note on the Task List in column D.

Step 4 - noinclude

1. To keep a category from appearing on the page the template is on, such as a country or state page, we need to put the noinclude tags around the categories on each of the sidebar templates. This is only needed on templates.
2. For the Colombia sidebar, the completed categories at the bottom of the page would look like this:

EXAMPLE:

<noinclude></noinclude>
3. Add the noinclude tags, if necessary. If they are already on the page, skip to the Final Step.

Final Step - Save the page

1. Save the page and double check your work by:

a. clicking on the wiki topic link to make sure it goes to the country or state page
b. making sure the categories at the bottom of the page are blue links

2. Make any necessary adjustments to fix any problems you find.
3. Return to the task list and put the date you completed your task and choose another country/state to work on.
