Each class title has the indication of how it will be taught. We make every effort to start classes on time.
You may join Zoom classes at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. If the class has no participants, it will end 15 minutes after the start time.

FamilySearch and Ancestry
Enhancing Your Five Generation Tree (In person)
This class will teach how to standardize vital information, attach hints, merge duplicate records, and other helpful tips for your five generation pedigree of Family Tree. It is a one session class that is repeated each week.

Getting Started with FamilySearch (Zoom)
This is a basic review of all of the FamilySearch.org tools. This class is taught in four sessions. Participants may attend any session in any order.
- Week 1: Learn everything about your Home Page and review different Pedigree Views of your family tree for research purposes.
- Week 2: Learn how to edit, add, delete information and relationships on your Details Page.
- Week 3: Learn the different options in the Search Menu: Records, Genealogies, Books, Images, etc.
- Week 4: Finding stories about your ancestors and preserving them in FamilySearch.
- Week 5: Topics tailored the class needs.

Introduction to MyHeritage (In person)
This class is a general overview of the MyHeritage program
- Week 1: Introduction: Be prepared to be amazed.
- Week 2: Using the search functions of MyHeritage to build and strengthen your family tree.
- Week 3: Family history tools for the 21st century: "smart matches," "record hints," and "theory of family relativity."

Memories: Keeping Them Safe and Preserved (In person)
This class will teach how to add the different types of memories to your family records and organize your gallery.
- Week 1 & 3: Adding and organizing photos.
- Week 2 & 4: Adding and organizing documents and audio files.

This class will teach you how to use the Family Tree app, Memories app, and the Get Involved app on your phone or electronic devices.

Understanding How FamilySearch.org and Ancestry.com Work Together (Zoom)
This two week class will teach how Ancestry.com and the FamilySearch.org family trees can communicate with each other in finding your missing ancestors.
- Week 1: Getting Started
- Learn how to create an Ancestry account, download your 4+ generations from your Family Tree to an Ancestry tree, and how to use Record Seek to attach Ancestry sources to your Family Tree.
- Week 2: Working with your Ancestry Tree
- Learn how to edit, manage and save your Ancestry family tree, search for missing ancestors in Ancestry public trees, attach new sources, edit names, dates, places, and add family members to your Ancestry tree.
- Week 3: Adding information from your Ancestry Tree to FamilySearch Family Tree
- Learn how to sync FamilySearch Family Tree and Ancestry Trees, adding new relatives, sources, detail information, fix relationships and merge records in Ancestry Tree.
- Week 4: Growing your family lines through DNA matches and creating “Bare-Bones” trees on Ancestry
- Learn how to search DNA matches, use DNA Thrulines, how creating a “Bare-Bones” tree can assist in finding new information on your collateral lines.
- Week 5: 5th Thursday lesson
- Other features of Ancestry will be covered such as LifeStory, Gallery and the Search tab. There will also be time to address Ancestry questions students might have.

This class is an introduction to basic research in FamilySearch. This class is taught in four sessions.
- Week 1: Learn the steps for researching family records.
- Week 2: Learn how to use hints in FamilySearch, Ancestry, and other partner sites.
- Week 3: Introduction to using Records, Images, Family Tree, Genealogies, Catalog, Books, and Research Wiki.
- Week 4: Learn about the latest changes in FamilySearch, how to use Record Seek, Source Box, Snipping Tool, and Tree Sweeper.

Saturday Storytelling Revival
Live Storytelling (In Person)
Come join our live storytelling revival.
Listen to or share a story from your own life, or an ancestors life.
- Tellers will place their names on a list as they arrive. We'll here up to ten stories per revival.
- Stories need to be true experiences that happened during your own life, or the life of an ancestor.
- Stories may be read or told.
- Stories need to be family friendly and no longer than 6 minutes.

Spanish Speaking Classes
- Spanish Speaking classes on FamilySearch Basics are available on request.
- We have Spanish speaking missionaries available to teach on Tuesdays 3:00 - 9:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
- Please call the Ogden FamilySearch Center at 801.626.1132 to schedule a time and instructor.
Large and Small Classrooms
- The Ogden FamilySearch Center is available for youth and adult groups to experience and give their own Family History instruction. The Center also offers an overview of FamilySearch, upon request.
- Reservations must be made by calling the Center Help Desk during business hours at 801.626.1132. We encourage two weeks in advance for a reservation.
- We encourage groups to bring their own instructors, but we can facilitate. Please include the subject matter, number of guests in the group, and whether you need assistance.
- The Help Desk missionaries will be able to help you and answer your questions.
