Purpose

Adding the United States, Social Security Numerical Identification Files database to all US county pages

Task List


Step One - Choose a State

1. From the tabs on the spreadsheet, choose a span of states to work on: Task List.

2. You can sign up for individual states by putting your name directly below "Name" above a list of counties for a state.

Note: there will be multiple states on one tab. Be sure to scroll right to see them all.

Step Two - Select a County

1. On the task list, copy the name of the first county link for the state you are working on.

Step Three - Society Security Records in the Contents

  • In the contents, select Society Security Records. Or scroll down to the Society Security Records header.



Step Four - Click Edit Source next to Society Security Records

  • Click Edit Source next to Society Security Records.



Step Five - Copy and Paste Database

  • Copy the following database code and paste it at the bottom of the list of collections already under this header:

Exceptions

  • If the link is already on the page, replace it with this new link to make it match the new manual of style. Do not worry about other entries on the page that are not in accordance with the manual of style.


Step Six - Check the Database and Save the Page

  • Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good and the link works.



  • Enter in the Summary and click Save changes:
