What is in This Collection?

This collection contains Eastern Cherokee enrollment records that were created by the U.S. Court of Claims. These records were used to determine who was eligible for funds under the treaties of 1835-36 and 1845 between the United States and the Eastern Cherokee tribes. The records are part of Record Group 75, Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and are from microfilm publication M685, Records Relating to Enrollment of Eastern Cherokee by Guion Miller, 1908-1910.
