Brief History

Chadwick's Company, Michigan Engineers was formed at Marshall, Michigan on November 1, 1861.  The men took  the oath of alligiance to the United States on November 3, 1861 and were mustered out  and disbanded 30 days later at Detroit, Michigan. [1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin

Men often enlisted in  a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded.  However if you are unsure which company your ancestor  was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

Enlisted men in this company were from Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan - see Roster
