History

The Pyramid Lake Reservation was established in 1874 and tribe operates under the Indian Reorganization Act Constitution and By-Laws approved on January 26, 1936 by the Department of Interior.

Reservations

The Pyramid Lake Reservation is located in Washoe County in western Nevada, 35 miles northeast of Reno. Small portions of the reservation are also in Lyon and Storey Counties.

Records

The majority of records of individuals were those created by the agencies. Some records may be available to tribal members through the tribal headquarters. They were (and are) the local office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and were charged with maintaining records of the activities of those under their responsibility. Among these records are:
