Garstang, Lancashire Poor Law Union

A parish workhouse operated at Claughton dating from 1795.
The Garstang Poor Law Union was formed on 31st January 1837.
The first Garstang Union workhouse was the former parish workhouse building at Claughton.
In 1876, a new workhouse accommodating 67 inmates was built at Bowgreave.
