This collection includes an index of Arizona obituaries that were previously hosted on the Mesa FamilySearch Center's website which has now been decommissioned.

The following information may be found in these records:
- Given name
- Surname
- Name of newspaper obituary appeared in
- Date obituary was published
How Do I Search This Collection?[edit | edit source]
Before searching this collection, it is helpful to know:
- The name of your ancestor
- The approximate death date
- The names of other relatives and associates
Search the Index[edit | edit source]
Search by name on the Collection Details Page.- Enter the information in the fields in the Search Collection section or click More Options to see additional fields
- Click Search to show possible matches
How Do I Analyze the Results?[edit | edit source]
Compare each result from your search with what you know to determine if there is a match. This may require viewing multiple records or images. Keep track of your research in a research log.
What Do I Do Next ?[edit | edit source]
- Whenever possible, view the original records to verify the information and to find additional information that might not be reported. These pieces of information can lead you to additional records and family members
I Found the Person I Was Looking For, What Now?[edit | edit source]
- Add the new information to your records
- Search for the death certificate
- If a birth date was provided in the obituary, search for a birth record
- The name of the undertaker or mortuary could lead you to funeral and cemetery records, which often include the names and residences of other family members
I Can’t Find the Person I’m Looking For, What Now?[edit | edit source]
- The person may be recorded with an abbreviated or variant form of their name
- Try searching by surname only
