  • The Autana Municipality originates in 1992, when by Decree the Amazonas Federal Territory was raised to the category of State.
  • It has been called after innumerable native generations of the area, the wonderful Tepuy (Wahari Kuawai -The Tree of Life) "Cerro Autana" this name that receives from the Piaroa Ethnic Group (Wötjujä) by other ethnic group this one.
  • On September 22, 2015, a State of Exception was partially declared in the border state of Amazonas.
  • The municipality of Autana has a population of approximately 12,600 people. [1]
