Historical Background

No one was living on Bermuda when it was discovered by the Spanish in 1505 nor a century later when it was settled by the British. People from Africa and Native Americans from the 13 colonies were soon brought to Bermuda as slaves.[1] Bermuda is part of the British Overseas Territories. [2]
