Brief History

Organized at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered in June 11, 1861. Mustered out:Madison, Wisconsin, July 2, 1864. Battalion consolidated with 6th Wisconsin Infantry as Companies "G" and "H" November 30, 1864.The 2nd Independent Battery, Wisconsin Light Artillery Organized at LaCrosse and mustered in at Racine, Wisconsin, October 10, 1861 Point Lookout, Maryland., January 20,1865. Mustered out July 10, 1865
