Brief History
The 1st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Camp Scott, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and mustered in October 19, 1861. The non-Veterans were ordered to Nashville, Tennessee, September 21. The Veterans and Recruits were transferred to 21st Wisconsin Infantry. The regiment was mustered out October 13, 1864 [1]
