Brief History

Organized at New Albany, Indiana, and mustered in August 19, 1862. At surrender of Johnston and his army. March to Washington, D. C., via Richmond, Virginia, April 29-May 19. Grand Review May 24. Mustered out at Washington, D. C., June 3, 1865.
